Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet

Imagine falling in love with your mortal enemy? Now imagine you are a 13-year-old girl trapped in a violent society dominated by strong men.

Would you risk everything to be with your new love?

This Peak to Peak Players production features the finest young actors from Denver’s metro area, including 17-year-old Grace Pouliot as Juliet and 23-year-old Chris Van Winkle as the lovesick Romeo.

The cast also include Tara Rose Kelso, as Mercutio, and Kate Parkin as Lady Capulet. Parkin and Kelso were seen recently in the critically acclaimed production of Wolves at the Boulder Ensemble Theater Company.

The play will include a cameo appearance by dancers from the Boulder Ballet. They will perform the Colorado premier of Christopher Wheeldon’s “This Bitter Earth.”

Wheeldon, the world’s foremost choreographer, is most recently known for his Tony-award winning “American in Paris” on Broadway.

The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza (one act)

The Greek Mythology Olympiaganza (one act)

Directed by: Jacquelyn O’Brien

1 Week – July 8th-12th, 2019 from 9:00-4:00
Final Production July 13th @ 2:00 PM in the Gilpin School Auditorium

Tuition: $200, must be paid in full by June 10th, 2019

Two battling narrators attempt to cover the entirety of Greek mythology using audience participation, cross-dressing, and general theatrical insanity. Creation myths such as

Pandora’s Box and Cronos and the Titans jostle for space with other famous myths like Jason and the Argonauts (the original Super Friends). Culminating in a heart-pounding, five-minute, two-actor version of The Iliad, this fast-paced, free-wheeling play is wild, silly, and a complete blast for all ages.

On the first day of camp, we will do some warm-up activities to get to know each other and then move into Auditions for roles in the production. Auditions will consist of cold-readings from the script. All students will receive a speaking role.

The following camp days will start with games and warm-up activities and move into production rehearsals. The final day of camp will be a production dress rehearsal.

Alice in Wonderland Jr.

Alice in Wonderland Jr.

Join Peak to Peak Players for a quality musical theatre camp experience!!!

Directed by: Angela Hunt
Musical Direction: Chip Smith

2 Weeks – Weekdays June 3rd-14th, 2019 from 9:00-4:00
Final Production June 15th and 16th in the Gilpin School Auditorium

Tuition: $450 – must be paid in full by May 6th, 2019
A $50 deposit is required at time of enrollment

Travel down the rabbit hole and join Alice, one of literature’s most beloved heroines, in her madcap adventures. Featuring updated songs from Disney’s thrilling animated motion picture, Disney’s Alice in Wonderland JR. is a fast-paced take on the classic tale.

The ever-curious Alice’s journey begins innocently enough as she chases the White Rabbit. Her adventures become increasingly more strange as she races the Dodo Bird, gets tied up with Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, raps with a bubble-blowing Caterpillar and beats the Queen of Hearts at her own game!

Roles are plentiful providing opportunities for us to showcase students of all different musical skill levels. Roles include three Cheshire Cats and dozens of other wonderfully wacky characters like a chorus of kids playing in the park, rock lobsters, talking fish, royal cardsmen, unbirthday partiers, as well as a group of mean-girl flowers.

On the first day of camp, we will do some warm-up activities to get to know each other and then move into Auditions for roles in the production. Students should come prepared with a 16-32 bar excerpt from a musical theatre song of their choice. All students will receive a role in the production.

The following camp days will start with games and warm-up activities and move into production rehearsals. The final day of camp will be a production dress rehearsal.
