Mission and Goals
The mission of the Peak to Peak Players theatre company is to entertain, enrich, and inspire the rural mountain communities in the Peak to Peak region of Colorado by producing a wide variety of high-quality theatrical productions. Peak to Peak Players also fosters and develops the artistic talents of company members, community members, and local youth through participation and educational camps.

Ed caught the acting bug when he was bored and seeking something to do while in the Navy. He saw an ad for West Side Story, auditioned, got a speaking part and never looked back.
Ed has been acting and directing productions for over 30 years. He has also acted in independent films, commercials, modeling and national print ads. He has taught acting and modeling as well as children’s summer camps.
Ed started his own theater from the ground up in an abandoned maintenance garage and served as its artistic director, directing several productions. The theater still survives being used by several different theater companies.
He presently lives in Central City with his musician wife, Patrice LeBlanc. They came up to the mountains to be able explore their creativity and are happy that Peak to Peak players has become a huge part of that including producing one of the musicals they wrote.
His son is in the Navy and wants to be an actor when he gets out…apple..tree
Jacquelyn O’Brien has been drawn to the stage as long as she can remember. She has been in shows since Elementary School, and in High School competed regularly in state and national Oral Interpretation competitions. Inexplicably she did not major in theatre in college, but rather holds a BA in Law, Philosophy, and Rhetoric and a Masters in Business Administration from Stephens College. As an adult she worked with a number of theatre companies in Columbia, MO both on and off the stage. Some of her favorite roles include Catherine in In the Next Room, Florence in The Odd Couple (female version), Ariel in The Tempest, and Sister Leo in Nunsensations and Nunsense 2.
When she moved to the mountains of Colorado she loved her new mountain life, but missed having a local theatre company to work with. Her best friend Angela also missed having a nearby theatre, and thus came the desire to create Peak to Peak Players. Thankfully, they found some other wonderful people to play along. She ran Peak to Peak Players full time for the first two years of it’s start-up. Now, she has handed off the leadership torch and looks forward to volunteering on a production by production basis when theatre productions resume post-covid. Aside from building a theatre company, her hobbies include skiing, snowboarding, hiking with her two dogs, reading, and going to the theater.
Angela Hunt holds a Ph.D. in theatre from the University of Colorado Boulder where she taught theatre courses, worked with Interactive Theatre Project and Theatre Without Borders, and served as a production dramaturg and assistant director. She presented her social justice dramaturgy work with the CU’s production of 14 at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C, and was the recipient of the KCACTF Dramaturgy award.
She developed the pedagogical method Collaborative Dramaturgy for Student Activism (CDSA) with a focus on using Shakespeare in secondary classrooms to engage students in solving social problems in local communities. She currently continues this work as a teacher in the language arts department at Fairview High School in Boulder, Colorado. As a musical theatre performer she has worked with many regional theatre companies including Theatre West Virginia, Hip Hip Heredia in N.Y.C., TADA and the Haymarket Theatre in Lincoln, NE, and Actors Rep and Black Swan Shakespeare Company in Provo, UT. She currently lives in Gilpin County, Colorado with her three sons, husband, a cat and a dog. In her free time she loves performing in musical theatre productions with her boys and best friend, dancing, hiking, finding amazing vintage clothes, playing piano, reading, and (attempting) to write new plays and musicals.
Mark Ragan first trod the stage in 2nd Grade with his critically acclaimed enactment of Santa Claus. One critic compared Ragan to Marlon Brando and Cary Grant. Of course, the critic was his mother; nonetheless it was agreed that the young thespian had an amazing career ahead of him. It wasn’t until high school that the young man returned to the stage as Bill Sykes in Oliver. For the next 30 years Ragan could be seen in productions ranging from Death of a Salesman to Curly in Oklahoma and Riff in West Side Story. However, Ragan discovered his true passion when he was cast in 1980 as Mercutio in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
The performance ignited his passion for the Bard of Avon and he never looked back. In 1990, Ragan launched his own Shakespeare Company in Washington D.C., where he performed roles ranging from Lysander and Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream to Hotspur in Henry IV, Part One to the title role in Hamlet . During his time in the Washington, Ragan also studied at Michael Kahn’s Folger Shakespeare Theater. When he’s not performing, Mark is the CEO and owner of a Chicago-based digital media company. He and his wife Jamie live in Gilpin County’s Missouri Lakes and have three daughters, all named after Shakespeare heroines: Juliet, Kate and Olivia.

Azure Hardy is a writer, photographer, and enthusiastic dabbler in all things creative. Azure and her family moved to the mountains from Texas in 2017 to be closer to nature and each other and they absolutely love mountain life. Azure holds a B.A. in Anthropology from the University of North Texas and is currently completing her M.S. in Applied Anthropology from her alma mater.
Azure fell in love with the performing arts at a young age and believes that children should be given every opportunity to explore how their lives can intersect with art.
Former Board Treasurer
Born and raised in the Colorado Foothills, Kris joined the US Army straight out of high school. She was taught the Korean language in Monterey, California and went to San Angelo, Texas to learn her job skills for the military. While there, she met her husband and was married after only 3 months of dating. Together, they went to Korea for 2 years and later to Ft. Meade Maryland where they both exited the Army.
Moving back to Colorado was their dream, and while looking for a house in 2004, Kris realized the Western Arvada area that she was raised in no longer had the same rural feel. They looked farther west and found Gilpin County with homes on acres of land. It felt like a place they could call home and raise a family. Kris had a 2 year degree from Anne Arundel Community College in Maryland and continued her education in accounting at what is now Metro State University, but stopped when she had their first child. Now, she has 2 daughters and a dog to take care of, as well as the house they bought, while her husband travels for work.
She was very involved at the elementary school and on many boards there but had to pull back when her mother’s lung cancer turned terminal. Now, she is excited to get back into the community and help the Peak to Peak players as the Board Treasurer.
